Blog and wiki moved to pwsp.net
As first step towards our long-term goal to integrate the Akregator web presence with KDE-PIM, we moved our Blog and Wiki to pwsp.net. The links on our homepage are updated, if you have the Akregator blog in your feed list, you should update to the new feed (You can even expect new content in the near future there). Thanks to Olivier Bédard for offering free webhosting for KDE related projects.
Converting KNewsTicker feeds to OPML
Kevin Deldycke wrote a python script you can use to export your KNewsTicker to OPML. Just run the script and import the created file to Akregator via File->Import Feeds. The script depends on pyxml. Thanks Kevin!
Urgent bugfix release: 1.0.2
A critical bug creeped in: In Akregator 1.0 and 1.0.1 the global archive options Delete Article s older than... and Disable archiving are mixed up: Choosing Delete Articles older than... causes a loss of feed archives unless a feed has its own archive setting overriding the global one. Thus, don't set Delete Articles older than... in the configure dialog when you're using Akregator 1.0 or 1.0.1. (you can check the version in the "Help" menu, "About Akregator")Akregator 1.0.2 fixes this bug and is available for download.Note: The 1.0.2 tarballs are for KDE 3.3 only. Since Akregator is part of KDE-PIM, KDE 3.4 users have to wait for KDE-PIM 3.4.1, sorry.
Akregator 1.0.1 released
After about one year of development, the Akregator team is pleased to announce Akregator 1.0.1! Thanks to all the people who have contributed: packagers, translators, developers, icon artists - and all the users who have reported bugs and gave us feedback. Well done! :-)After 1.0, new features and improvements are planned: a somewhat smarter article archive (to reduce the startup time and memory consumption) and search folders for convenient filtering, to mention two of them. If you want to contribute, don't hesitate to join us.Enjoy Akregator!P.S.: If you wonder what happened to 1.0: Akregator 1.0 was released as part of KDE-PIM 3.4. 1.0.1 is a stand-alone release for KDE 3.3 users
Fixed beta10 tarballs
There was an error in the beta10 tarballs, which prevented the kontact plugin from being built. So if akregator doesn't show up in Kontact or the (old) plugin doesn't load the feed list, that's why. I fixed it and updated the tarballs, go and get the new ones.If you are not sure if you got an old or new tarball, here are md5 checksums of the new ones:c5f89b302c3bcf37f65b7310789eadeb akregator-1.0_beta10.tar.bz2fa4e9ba5e14f0f537d2c4060be62f383 akregator-1.0_beta10.tar.gzRun "md5sum yourTarball" and compare.
